For the nine duos still in the race, since last night the weather conditions have changed. The winds have been mainly easterly since the first Class 40s came in but now the breeze is mainly in the west and that means tacking to get in to Itajaí.
Four crews are expected tonight Tuesday, and their last 100 miles or less will be beat thanks to the stormy depression formed off Cabo Frio. The wind on the Bay of Rio is now 12kts from the W and here off the finish city of Itajaí there is less than eight knots.
