Twenty one days of racing and the battle for eighth and ninth is going down to the wire between Team Plastique’s Italian duo Alessandro de Benedetto and Alberto Monaco and Initiatives Couer, Tanguy de Lamotte and Francois Damien. Yesterday Initiatives Couer had an advantage of 11 miles but an encounter with a Braziliain fishing boat setting a long net, cost them. And now there has been less than one mile between the two. At midday local time in the hot sun off Itajai they have less than 17 miles to go and Team Plastique lead by 0.7 of a mile.
